An Schluss → Moritz Zeller

Artist book for Moritz Zellers work “An Schluss”. The book consists of loose sheets that can be recombined. A patchwork that refers to the remaining fragments in the urban space of Leipzig. The manually colored covers make each book unique.

A siding (An Schluss) is a rail route used to open up a site or building, which is not itself part of the railway infrastructure, through railway tracks for the transport of goods. In a performative act, Moritz Zeller walks the course of the former sidings in the urban space of Leipzig and marks them with a specially designed marking vehicle. A gesture to make this industrial structure, which has had a lasting impact on Leipzig’s cityscape, visible again by overwriting it.
