Boxcar is a photo magazine about graffiti on freight trains. All photographs are made by Moritz Zeller between 2011 and 2021. Boxcar is not only about the graffiti pieces on the freight trains, it’s also about the different stations on their way through Europe. We decided for a format, that makes also the small details within the graffiti pieces visible for the viewer. The boxcar logo is inspired by the signage of an old railway station in the northern part of Germany and as well the textile cover and the choosen colors are direct references to the freight train. Boxcar is about the freight train as rolling exhibition.
